2015 has been a great year for Saracen. We've exceeded our turnover expectations, doubled our head count and consolidated our national growth by opening an office in Yorkshire.
Our success has run, pretty much, across all of our divisions: Our Small Works division almost doubled its turnover in the last 12 months and over 70 per cent of existing Saracen customers now rely on Saracen Facilities for their ongoing facilities management and maintenance requirements.
With over 85% of our business falling into the category of repeat business, it's been a pleasure to welcome new customers including Creature of London, Paragon, British transport Police, Motofix, Loma Systems, WYG, Hey Human, as well as a significant amount of financial institutions, strengthening Saracen's presence in the City.
We've also enjoyed the recognition of our peers this year. In June, members of the team were presented with a prestigious gold AIS (Association of Interior Specialists) at a ceremony at the Dorchester Hotel, in recognition of our refurbishment of Royalty House in Watford.
In November, we were shortlisted for two awards at the Northern Design Awards in the categories for Commercial Interior Design Practice and Innovative Design. To get a mention on these lists during our first year of operation in the North is an incredible achievement and reflects the hard work of the team in building our credibility as a national concern.
We are already standing shoulder to shoulder with companies who have had a presence in the North for many years and are now fulfilling our aim to make ourselves known further afield as we complete projects in Scotland and plan to pitch for contracts outside of the UK in the coming months.
Like any business, we are only as good as our team. At Saracen, our team is the best. We are lucky to have on board a bunch of some of the most dedicated professionals, who are passionate about the job as well as being 100% committed to customer service.
In 2015, we expect to further strengthen our supply chain, build on our high record of repeat business and continue to make our presence felt across an ever-widening geographical spread. These are very exciting times for Saracen. We have made a determined effort to pace our level of growth and get the foundations right and these efforts are now paying off.
So it is, indeed, 'Happy New Year'. We wish you all the very best for 2015 and look forward to reporting much more of the same in terms of growth and development over the next 12 months.
