It's that time again !
There's a group of us running in the Bupa Great South Run on 25th October to raise funds for Saracen's regular adopted charity, Naomi House & Jacksplace.
I'll be running again, along with Dave Browne, Petra Martins and Manuela Griogoras, and we are all hoping for, at the very least, a dry day to keep it as painless as possible. (No torrential thunder storms !).
Naomi House & Jacksplace are hospices, based in Winchester, for children and young adults. Both provide tremendous support for those with serious medical conditions, who are unlikely to live to adulthood, and their families, offering much needed help and sanctuary. The charity gets around 10 per cent of its funding from the Department of Health, otherwise relying on donations and fund-raising activity.
It goes without saying that all the staff that work at Naomi House & Jacksplace are truly amazing and make a real difference to the families they interact with. If we can raise the funds to alleviate just some of the financial pressure that this charity has to meet annually, we'll have reason to celebrate in October - beyond the 'no mean feat' of actually crossing the finish line !
As well as being in awe of this great charity, we are operating on a wider remit to continue to engage with, and support, the community at large. Saracen is a local company that operates nationally and we recognize the importance of interacting with the people and the businesses that surround us.
There'll be the usual good-humoured huffing and puffing in the office as the Run approaches but we're all proud to be out there, doing our bit.
So please click here to access the Virgin money giving page, which has been set up to accept your donations, and you can do your bit too.
Thank you for your continued support.
Michael Page joint managing director of Saracen Interiors.
