April has been a big month for Saracen site manager, Luke Winter. Having recently helped his team, Hambledon FC to win the Surrey Intermediate Premier Division, the team went on last week to win the Invitation Cup Final 4-2 after extra time against Chobham Burymead. They now look forward to playing in their second cup final of the season against Woking & Horsell, aiming to complete the treble and defend their crown in the League Cup Final.
Taking place at the Godalming Town FC stadium in Surrey on April 28th, the final is set to be a nail-biting event as Hambledon FC goes all out to defend its crown.
We’ve sponsored the team for the last season and are delighted to have the Saracen logo emblazoned on the shirts of such a highly-skilled group of players.
To have the team play in the final, with our name out there for all to see, is the ultimate coup. There are a lot of football supporters in our midst who will be cheering Luke and his team-mates on at the end of April.
Supporting the community and getting involved remains high on our list, at Saracen, at all times. We regularly and proactively recruit from the local area and pride ourselves in adopting a ‘pay it forward’ policy. We benefit from Luke and other local workers’ dedication and commitment to our various projects and so we want to put some support and good will back out there, into the community.
Similarly, we will be doing our usual quota of runs and charity events this year – certain marathons and sporting dates have already made their way onto the Saracen calendar and we are already getting prepared.
Luke has set the bar high in terms of sporting results however, for the rest of us, it’s the taking part that counts - and I’m pleased to say we have an office full of very good sports.
On behalf of all of the team at Saracen, good luck on April 28th, Luke.
