Saracen transfers skills to take on the luxury residential market

Leading workplace consultant, Saracen Interiors has made its way further into the residential market having started work on the refurbishment of a luxury, five-bedroom, £2 million property in Guildford, Surrey.

Work on the project started in March and is due to take up to six months. The project covers all design work; structural repairs; electrical work; new floors, including underfloor heating installation, kitchen and roof; the removal of walls to create an open-plan area incorporating lounge, kitchen and dining space; extension to the back of the property and redecoration throughout.

Best known for its award-winning office designs, along with its ability to create flexible, working environments, Saracen agreed to take on the residential project on behalf of a client who is keen to make the most of his living space. Joint managing director of Saracen Interiors, Michael Page explains: “It was initially intended as a favour for a client who wanted to reconfigure and extend his home however the team is relishing this fresh challenge and we are all enjoying applying our skills and knowledge within a new sector.

“We have the expert individuals in place, including members of our own team as well as partners, to explore the high end residential sector further and so this may well be the start of something new for us. We anticipate that our designs could add a lot of value to the residential market and there is certainly much relevant, practical knowledge that is transferable across these sectors.

Over the past decade, Saracen’s status has gradually changed from a South East fit out concern to a national full service enterprise. Its number of staff has grown along with its turnover and the company continues to invest in local apprentices, training initiatives and industry-specific innovations such as BIM.
