Freelancers have long been spoiled for choice regarding creative co-working spaces throughout the City of London.
Whilst countless American cities are renowned for the numerous co-working spaces they offer freelancers and remote workers.
London seems somewhat deprived of the attention it most certainly deserves.
Flexible, shared workspaces aimed at entrepreneurs, freelancers, and small businesses, have been popping up all over the city, and the UK, for years now.
With the recent opening of WeWork's fourth London location in Moorgate, sited in the heart of London's Tech City with the workspace to accommodate more than 3,000 members, there are plenty of spare desks across London for lonesome freelancers looking for a social buzz in what are usually very cool surrounds.

Open-plan, bright, friendly and peaceful, this cool little shared workspace at Bethnal Green is quite the creative hub with an organic, laidback feel that owes as much to the vintage wooden furniture and pot plants the space is decked out with as it is the artistic, creative individuals who flock here during the day to work.
With an outside space featuring a shed and sitting area, this is an ideal space if you're feeling a little stressed out and looking for some cool surrounds to work in.
This one even had the designers at Saracen Interiors thinking about working in a shared co-working space! Seriously though, Warner Yard, located in the heart of Clerkenwell in the Borough of Islington, is a stylish shared workspace with crisp interiors, chesterfield sofas, trendy hanging lightbulbs, and big, wide open windows.
Not so much for freelancers as it is entrepreneurs, investors and techies looking to network, it's a beautifully designed workspace, one definitely worth taking a look at.
Don't get this workspace confused with those pesky drivers French cabbies are up in arms about, this trendy little shared workspace a few minutes' walk from Victoria Station is uber-cool. Comfortable, laidback and practical, it's bright, friendly, and has a number of well-equipped meeting rooms that are perfect for collaborative projects.
The largest provider of flexible co-working spaces in the City of London, WeWork now has four shared workspaces for freelancers to take their pick of. In addition to the recently opened mega-space in Moorgate, there are also locations at Soho, South Bank, and Devonshire Square, so you have quite a few to select from.
Each workspace is beautifully designed and decorated, making them ideal places for creative freelancers to derive inspiration from and get those creative juices flowing.
Although there are many advantages to co-working, there are also some drawbacks. Whilst most freelancers appreciate the opportunity to have a chat with others and get out of the house for the day, some find the background noise distracting, and may even find themselves looking forward to the peace and quiet of home.
Still, these spaces have heaps to offer, and with the relatively small outlay involved, expect to see more co-working spaces popping up all over London to meet demand.
