As a result of our very successful foray into the Yorkshire market last year, we have now moved the Northern team from offices in Wetherby to larger premises in Wakefield. The bigger space will accommodate the burgeoning team while giving us room for future growth, not to mention an address in a more central location.
Since securing an initial run of design and build contracts in and around Leeds and York for one of our long-term clients, we've been busy establishing new contacts in the region and building on the business we have. We have made some significant appointments and we are working on developing a key list of suppliers who we can build solid partnerships with, mirroring our success in the South.
It's been a fast-paced but very rewarding time for the team based in the North. We even managed to get shortlisted for two awards at the Northern Design Awards, with the company sitting as a finalist in the Commercial Interior Design Practice and the Innovative Design categories - no mean feat for a business that has only been operating in the area for a matter of months.
We entered Scotland for the first time at the tail end of 2014 and those projects have also been run from the Yorkshire office. The team oversees any work undertaken in the North including Scotland and all other areas besides Yorkshire. With a wider geographical spread and a wealth of new business opportunities in the mix, our office move was inevitable. In order to continue and maintain our growth trajectory, we had to invest in a bigger, more central base.
Our first priority is always going to be the staff - they are the business - so we've aimed to place the team in a location that they are happy with, giving them good motorway access and close proximity to local amenities. A proportion of the team are from the Wakefield area which has helped us to make ourselves at home relatively quickly and we're looking forward to forging strong links in the immediate vicinity.
For those who have yet to visit, our northern office can now be found on the First floor, International House, Trinity Business Park, Wakefield. The postcode is WF2 8EF. So if you do think of keying that into the sat nav, let us know and we'll get the kettle on.
